B.Ed (Bachelor of Education)

B.Ed. is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VIII), secondary (classes IX-X) and senior secondary (classes XI-XII) levels. D. P. Singh Institute of Education is recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for B. Ed. course with an annual intake of 100 students. The college is affiliated to Patlipiutra University, Patna (College Code: PPU-2431).

Duration

Duration of B. Ed. course is of two (02) years. As per NCTE Regulations 2014, it can be completed in maximum three academic years from the date of admission in the course. Minimum 80% attendance in course work and 90% attendance in school internship is required for appearing in university examination.

Eligibility for Admission in B. Ed. course

Minimum 50% marks either in Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Science/Social Science/Humanities or any other equivalent qualification.

Admission

On the basis of ‘Merit List’ of ‘Joint Entrance Test’ organized at the State level by the agency designated for the purpose by Raj Bhawan, Bihar. Any student seeking admission in B. Ed. course must pass 'Joint Entrance Test'. No student can take admission without qualifying the 'Joint Entrance Test'.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education.)

D. El. Ed. course prepares teachers for elementary stage of education (classes I to VIII).D. P. Singh Institute of Education is recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for D. El. Ed. course with an annual intake of 100 students. Bihar School Examination Board, Patna is the Affiliating Body of the College for D. El. Ed. course.

Duration

Duration of D. El. Ed. course is two (02) years. The course may be completed in maximum three academic years from the date of admission in the course.

Eligibility for Admission in D.El.Ed. course

Minimum 50% marks in Intermediate (+2) or its equivalent examination. Eligibility criteria may be changed as per regulations of the recognizing/affiliating body as changed from time to time.

Admission in D. El. Ed. course is done on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the ‘Entrance Test’ organized by Bihar School Examination Board, Patna.
